Carmen Roberts

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I’m passionate about mental health and interested in why we think, feel and behave the way we do. Whether it’s nature or nurture, how we see the world is unique to us. Usually we find a way to control a problem but sometimes that issue starts to control us. I can help you find a way to take command of your life and relationships again.

I have a degree in Therapeutic Counselling, awarded from the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB). I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), hold a Diploma in Criminal Psychology and am qualified to work with individuals and couples.

In addition to private practice, I volunteer at Cruse Bereavement Care. I have also worked at Gloucestershire Constabulary, Gloucestershire NHS Eating Disorders Unit and have managed an employee well-being scheme.

About

Carmen Roberts is a UK-based therapist with seven years of clinical experience who is curious about why people think, feel and behave as they do. She approaches each person’s experience as shaped by many factors – both nature and nurture – and recognises that everyone develops their own way of coping. When those coping strategies begin to take over, she works alongside clients to help them regain control of their life and relationships.

She holds a degree in Therapeutic Counselling awarded by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) and is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Carmen also holds a Diploma in Criminal Psychology and is qualified to work with both individuals and couples.

Alongside her private practice, Carmen volunteers with Cruse Bereavement Care. Her past roles include work with Gloucestershire Constabulary, the Gloucestershire NHS Eating Disorders Unit, and managing an employee well-being scheme. She specialises in supporting people with stress, anxiety, addictions, relationship difficulties, trauma and abuse, and grief, and works as a female therapist for those seeking that specific option.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people ask whether therapy delivered online can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions. A key benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the format that best suits them, whether that is a video call, a phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and to access support from wherever is most convenient. Therapists offering online sessions are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists at any time if they feel a different fit would be better. Online therapy can be a practical and effective way to work on everyday mental health concerns with professional support.
