Kate Janach

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Life is not always easy, it can bring its fair share of storms, leaving us to seek out a safe place to shelter as we weather those intense and challenging times.
You might be at a crossroads in your life, feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or maybe something has happened to you recently, such as a bereavement, the end of a relationship, the loss of a beloved pet, a traumatic experience – or perhaps things have happened to you in the past that you are still struggling to come to terms with.
My aim is to be that warm and safe shelter, providing a confidential space where together, we can explore these experiences, and how you feel about them. My aim is to listen with empathy and respect, and without judgement.
My role is not to advise, or to tell you what to do, but rather to support you as you look at some of the difficulties you have been facing, giving you the time and the space to understand what you have been through, to think about what is important to you, and to figure out what you want for your future.

A big part of counselling is finding the right counsellor that you feel comfortable to work with and if we decide that we are a good fit, together we will build the foundations, creating the ‘shelter’ in which we will work, it will be our regular place to meet and your safe space to be heard.
I am an integrative counsellor, meaning I put together different styles of working that would best suit your needs. We are all unique and the same size does not fit all, so it is important that in counselling as well, the modalities and techniques used should be specific to you as an individual person.
My background is in general and mental health nursing, so especially understand the pressures and strains on those working in the health care and medical field. I am a qualified and fully insured counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). However, beyond my qualifications and experience, I believe that it is the relationship that we create between us that is imperative to the work we do together.
As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I am committed to the highest professional, moral, and ethical standards in my work

About

Kate Janach offers a calm, supportive approach for people navigating difficult life moments. She recognises that life can bring unexpected storms – from bereavement, the end of a relationship or the loss of a pet, to recent or past traumatic experiences – and that these events can leave someone feeling stuck, overwhelmed or uncertain about the future.

Her aim is to provide a warm, safe shelter where clients can explore those experiences and the emotions that accompany them. Kate listens with empathy and respect, without judgement, and frames her role as a supporter rather than an adviser. She gives clients the time and space to understand what they have been through, to clarify what matters to them, and to consider what they want moving forward.

Finding the right counsellor is an important part of the process, and if both agree there is a good fit, Kate works with each person to build a dependable foundation – a regular place to meet and a safe space to be heard. She practises as an integrative counsellor, combining different styles and techniques to match each individual’s needs because one size does not fit all.

With a background in general and mental health nursing, Kate particularly understands the pressures faced by those working in health care and the medical field. She is a qualified, fully insured counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Beyond qualifications and experience, Kate places the therapeutic relationship at the centre of the work and, as a BACP member, is committed to the highest professional, moral and ethical standards in her practice.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people ask whether online therapy can make a real difference. For a range of common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and major life changes – online therapy has been found to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.

One major benefit is flexibility. People can choose the format that suits them best – video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging – which helps therapy fit into busy lives and varied schedules.

All therapists involved are licensed professionals, and if someone decides they would prefer a different therapeutic fit they are free to change practitioners at any time.
