Stephanie Boosey

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I offer counselling to help you to process and move forward from whatever you are struggling with now. My goal is to help clients identify, process and address concerns in a supportive and non judgemental approach. I enjoy helping other and feel honoured that my clients allow me to share in their journey to emotional, psychological wellness, growth and healing.

A little bit about me, I am qualified Counsellor with over 20 years experience of supporting adults and young people. My education along with my clinical practice equipped me with the necessary tools to effectively engage with clients. I have experience working with a wide range of clients with many life challenges.

I can offer therapy sessions, whatever issues you bring such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, loss & bereavement, low self-esteem & confidence, relationships, domestic abuse, sexual abuse and unhappiness with work, home or general unhappiness in a supportive environment offering compassion and kindness.

I support my clients who bring a broad range of issues by using gentle yet powerful techniques that help them discover healthy strategies for coping. I see counselling and therapeutic work as a collaborative process in which the client brings her or his experiences in both a conscious and an unconscious way and I bring my awareness, my experience and my respectful curiosity.

I am a person centred therapist and I use broadly humanistic, integrative approach developed principally from these sources, EMDR, Gestalt, Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

EMDR therapy is a mental health treatment method that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. Developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro in the late 1980s, EMDR is primarily used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) but has also been found effective for various other conditions, including anxiety, depression, and chronic pain.

Gestalt Therapy is an experiential therapy and centres on the individual’s experience in the here and now, the relationship between the therapist and client, the circumstances in which these things take place, and the adjustments people make as a result of the situation. Gestalt Therapy is holistic and emphasises personal responsibility.

Mindfulness is an approach to help clients reconnect with themselves and the world around them. Practices will help clients to manage conditions such as anxiety. Through noticing thoughts and allowing them to understand how unhelpful thoughts such as worrying can increase their anxiety. Becoming more self aware and noticing the difficulties in life but also allowing themselves to focus on the good things that might be happening in their life no matter how small they might be.

CBT is a structured approach which aims to get to the bottom of problems relating to dysfunctional emotions, behaviours and thoughts. This is achieved through the exploration of negative thoughts with a client followed by more goal-oriented sessions in which clients are taught techniques which they can then apply to everyday life.

Taking the first step to sign up to therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for taking this step.

Stephanie Boosey offers counselling to help people process and move forward from whatever they are struggling with now. Her aim is to help clients identify, work through and address concerns using a supportive, non-judgemental approach. She values helping others and feels honoured to share in clients’ journeys toward emotional and psychological wellness, growth and healing.

Stephanie is a qualified counsellor with 6 years of experience supporting adults and young people. Her education combined with clinical practice has equipped her with the tools to engage effectively with a wide range of clients facing many life challenges.

She provides therapy for issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma, loss and bereavement, low self-esteem and confidence, relationship difficulties, domestic and sexual abuse, dissatisfaction with work or home life, and general unhappiness. Sessions are offered in a compassionate, kind environment.

Stephanie supports clients with gentle yet effective techniques designed to help them discover healthier strategies for coping. She views counselling as a collaborative process in which the client brings their experiences, both conscious and unconscious, while she contributes awareness, clinical experience and respectful curiosity.

As a person-centred therapist, Stephanie works from a broadly humanistic, integrative framework drawing principally on EMDR, Gestalt, Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

EMDR is a treatment method used to help people process and heal from traumatic experiences. Developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro in the late 1980s, EMDR is primarily used for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and has also been applied to conditions such as anxiety, depression and chronic pain.

Gestalt therapy is an experiential approach that focuses on the individual’s present experience – the here and now – the relationship between therapist and client, the context in which these interactions occur, and how people adjust to their circumstances. It is holistic and emphasises personal responsibility.

Mindfulness offers practices that help clients reconnect with themselves and the world around them. By noticing thoughts and recognising how unhelpful patterns such as excessive worrying can increase anxiety, clients develop greater self-awareness and can also learn to notice small positive aspects of life.

CBT is a structured approach aimed at addressing problems linked to unhelpful emotions, behaviours and thoughts. It involves exploring negative thought patterns and then moving to goal-oriented sessions where clients learn practical techniques they can use in daily life.

Taking the first step to sign up to therapy can take courage, and Stephanie is proud of anyone who takes that step.

Is Online Therapy the Right Fit for Your Needs?

Many people wonder whether online therapy can genuinely help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.

One major benefit is flexibility – you can connect with a therapist in the way that suits you best, whether that is by video call, phone session, live chat or in-app messaging. This variety makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.

Therapists offering online work are licensed professionals, and if you feel a different fit would be better you can switch therapists at any time.
