I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. I have over six years of experience in the mental health field as a therapist working with individuals ranging from infancy, childhood, adolescents, adulthood, middle adulthood and old age. Also, have worked in various settings such as in the home, school, out in the community, agency setting and in my office. Their backgrounds have ranged from foster care, adoption, history of trauma, domestic violence, difficulty with peers/co-workers, auto-immune disease, LGBTQIA+, separation, divorce, reunification and court ordered therapy. Some diagnosed with MDD, GAD, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, Adjustment Disorder, School Phobia and ODD. I will complete an intake, which will include a mental status exam. This process will come naturally during the session as I will inquire about the reason why you have decided to start therapy and collaborate to determine what your therapeutic, personal and professional goals are. My office is a safe place where you can share your thoughts and feelings, feel heard, understood, validated and supported. You have a say each step of the way.

Rebecca Marrs is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in California with more than six years of experience in the mental health field. She has provided therapy to people across the lifespan – from infancy and childhood through adolescence, adulthood, middle adulthood, and older age.
Her work has taken place in a variety of settings, including in-home visits, schools, community locations, agency environments, and her private office. She has supported individuals with diverse backgrounds such as foster care and adoption histories, experiences of trauma and domestic violence, challenges with peers or co-workers, autoimmune illness, LGBTQIA+ identities, separation and divorce, reunification, and court-ordered therapy.
Some people she has worked with have received diagnoses such as major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, adjustment disorder, school phobia, and oppositional defiant disorder. Rebecca completes an intake that includes a mental status exam; this process unfolds naturally during sessions as she asks about the reasons for seeking therapy and collaborates with each person to identify therapeutic, personal, and professional goals.
Her office is intended to be a safe space where individuals can share thoughts and feelings and feel heard, understood, validated, and supported. Clients are invited to take part in decisions throughout the therapeutic process and have a voice at each step.
Many people ask whether meeting with a therapist online can actually help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and adapting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
A major advantage of remote care is flexibility – individuals can connect in the way that best fits their needs and schedule, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to maintain continuity of care and to fit therapy into a busy life.
Therapists and licensed professionals provide the clinical care, and people may choose to change therapists at any time if they want a different fit. For many, online therapy offers an accessible, practical way to address everyday mental health and relationship concerns while working with trained professionals.
