Mousumi Mallik

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am licensed in Ohio with 3 years of professional work experience. I have earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bowling Green State University. I am currently pursuing my Doctoral Degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Toledo. I have experience working in human services for over two decades, in Uganda (East Africa), India and locally here in Northwest Ohio.
I moved to the United States to follow my heart and trained to become a Clinical Counselor. I have experience working with children and adults between the ages of 4 and 92. Living and working in a college town also gave me the experience of working with college students – a population close to my heart. My background working as a teacher for several years gives me a unique perspective when working with children. I am also experienced in working with the LBGTQ+ population. I have a special interest in working with individuals with severe persistent mental health issues and those who are in crisis. I am a cancer survivor and have experience in working with clients who have either been diagnosed, are in treatment or are survivors of cancer or other serious health conditions.
I have experience working with individuals; including teens and adolescents, couples, and groups to address anxiety, PTSD, depression, crisis, substance use disorder, personality disorder and other mental health issues. I provide trauma informed care; meeting clients where they are at and helping them build their resilience and confidence to manage and overcome their life challenges.
Having lived and worked in three different continents has helped shape me as a truly diverse and multiculturally competent counselor. My style of therapy is feministic, humanistic, and person-centered. I believe in empowering my clients to oversee their own lives. I use narrative therapy, CBT, and solution focused techniques to create healthy and attainable goals for treatment and therapy. I believe in incorporating her core values that include kindness, compassion, empathy, and humility when working with her clients.
I believe in giving back to society and find it rewarding to be in a helping profession, making a difference in her clients’ lives. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Is Online Therapy the Right Choice for Your Mental Health Journey?

For many common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes – online therapy can be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions. It is a viable option for people seeking support for these types of issues.

A major benefit of online care is flexibility – individuals can connect with a therapist in the format that best fits their needs, whether by video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it simpler to integrate therapy into a busy schedule.

Therapists offering online services are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change providers if they feel a different fit would be more helpful. For many people, online therapy provides a practical, effective way to access mental health support.
