Yolanda Batres-Espinoza is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California with five years of clinical experience. She earned a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary, where she focused on Medical Family Therapy, and she brings that training into her work with individuals and families.
Her interest in psychotherapy began at age eight after having a therapist herself, which inspired her to pursue a career supporting others in similar ways. Yolanda launched her professional practice in community mental health agencies, providing care to underserved communities in East Los Angeles and helping many families overcome the stigma often associated with seeking therapy.
Yolanda is an LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapist and a member of that community. She is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and works with a range of concerns, including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, relationship issues, family conflicts, grief, anger management, self-esteem, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, coping with life changes, compassion fatigue, and ADHD.
She provides therapy in both English and Spanish to individuals and families ages 12 and up, and she approaches treatment with the belief that therapy offers practical tools people can use to take greater control of their lives. Yolanda welcomes the opportunity to work collaboratively with clients to identify those tools and support meaningful change.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person care for most cases.
One of the principal benefits is flexibility - clients can choose the mode of connection that suits them best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability often makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.
All participating clinicians are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they feel another fit would be better. Online therapy can offer a practical, accessible way to begin or continue mental health work while accommodating different lifestyles and needs.
