Vickie Lucero

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Hello, my name is Vickie. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Addiction Counselor in Colorado. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2011 and just this year got my Licensed Addiction Counselor credential. However, I have been working in the mental health field in a variety of roles and settings since 1996. A few of those settings include the Department of Human Services, Community Mental Health, inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment centers and non-profit health clinic work.

I describe my approach as eclectic. I do not practice one single modality but rather a variety based on the needs of the individual. I believe that every individual’s concerns are unique to them and their experience and therefore believe it is important to tailor the therapeutic process to their unique circumstances. I find that components of Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing and Dialectical Behavior are Therapy are often most effective and tend to use those evidenced based approaches the most; however, I am educated in a variety of therapeutic approaches and will use whatever is the best fit for you.

I have significant experience working with a variety of concerns including trauma, depression, anxiety, anger, parenting issues, gender dysphoria, personality disorders and substance use.

Thank you for taking the time to read about me, I look forward to having the opportunity to learn about you and assist you reaching your goals!

Warm Regards,
Vickie

About

Vickie Lucero is a Licensed Professional Counselor who practices in Colorado and has recently added a credential in addiction counseling. She has worked in the mental health field since 1996 and has been a licensed professional counselor since 2011, bringing sixteen years of focused experience providing therapy to individuals and families.

Her career has spanned a variety of clinical settings, including the Department of Human Services, community mental health programs, inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment centers, and nonprofit health clinics. Those roles have shaped a practical, informed approach to care.

Vickie describes her approach as eclectic – she draws on different methods to match the needs of each person rather than relying on a single technique. She frequently integrates components of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused strategies, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy because these evidence-based elements often prove effective. She is trained in additional modalities and selects the methods that best fit each client.

Vickie has substantial experience addressing trauma, depression, anxiety, anger, parenting concerns, gender dysphoria, personality disorders, and substance use. She aims to understand each person’s unique situation and collaborates with them to set realistic goals and practical steps toward change.

She welcomes the chance to learn about prospective clients and support them as they work toward their goals.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people want to know whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life transitions, research and clinical practice indicate that therapy delivered remotely can be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.

One of the main advantages of online care is flexibility. Individuals can choose the format that fits their needs and schedule – video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to keep continuity of care amid busy lives.

Licensed professionals provide online therapy, and clients have the option to change therapists if they need a different fit. For many people managing everyday mental health challenges, remote therapy offers an accessible and effective way to get support.
