Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello! I am Dr. Vanessa R. Laurent, a licensed psychologist in Connecticut and Rhode Island. I have provided therapeutic services for over 10 years. I employ a multimodal approach to therapy, but would primarily characterize me as a cognitive behavioral therapist, with specific training in family intervention, behavioral modification, and trauma-informed care. I have also received training in the following treatment modalities: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Behavior Activation (BA), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Exposure and Response (ERP), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Client-centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Interpersonal Therapy.
My extensive experience has seen me work with a diverse range of patients. My patients have been racially and ethnically diverse, patients’ ages range from toddlers to older adults, from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic statuses; and present with concerns ranging from typical developmental problems (e.g., adjustment concerns, family and peer-related conflict, treatment adherence) to more severe concerns (e.g., PTSD, psychosis, depression, suicidality, complex medical conditions). Thus, I have been able to work effectively with a range of patients and adapt my style according to individual needs and personalities.
I look forward to working with you on your journey to bettering yourself.
