Vanessa Gordon is an Integrative Therapeutic counsellor who combines several theoretical approaches to address the past, the present and interpersonal patterns that shape personality. Her preferred methods include person-centred work, psychodynamic approaches, solution-focused techniques and transactional analysis, used together to explore history, current experience and ways of relating to others.
She is also a Reiki II practitioner, working with universal life force energy and offering a simple relaxation technique that can be applied through hands-on or distance healing to support the body’s natural healing response. Vanessa teaches mindfulness, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Ho’oponopono practices and meditation to help clear unwanted beliefs and perceptions across the emotional, physical, spiritual and mental layers of experience.
Vanessa works with those four bodies of experience to support movement toward greater wellness and wellbeing. She is a trained Mental Health First Aid facilitator and has therapeutic experience with adults presenting with mild to moderate and severe mental health concerns related to attachment issues, co-dependency, relationships, self-validation, defensiveness, identity and self-concept, trauma, abuse, violence and addictions.
She provides psychoeducation on self-love and self-care, and holds a strong interest in helping people become the best possible versions of themselves. Vanessa understands that difficult past and current experiences - including trauma - can affect daily functioning, relationships and self-concept. She is self-motivated, ambitious for her clients and practises in an integrative way.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility - clients can connect in the way that feels most comfortable, using video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to fit regular sessions into a busy life.
All therapists involved are licensed professionals, and clients may switch therapists if they decide a different fit would be better for their needs.
