Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am licensed in California with 32 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, & motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.
NOTE-I do provide asynchronous text messaging only and prefer it for the following reasons: very flexible with no scheduling necessary, can refer back to our conversation at any time day or night and get a response anywhere from within a few hours to no later than 12 hours typically, with multiple exchanges in one day/evening when not busy, allows both parties to be on their own time schedule at their convenience, and for some it is easier to express thoughts and feelings in writing versus verbally or when on camera. I have worked this way for over a year and have had success with many clients who work well with this format. It is not for everyone, but for some, it does work really well and provides more contact than a weekly live session does. I hope to work with you soon!

Dr. Stacy Johnston is a licensed psychologist in California (CA Psychologist 17457) with 32 years of professional experience. She works with people facing stress and anxiety, relationship concerns, family conflicts, depression, motivation challenges, and issues related to self-esteem and confidence.
Dr. Johnston approaches clients with the belief that each person is the expert of their own story and brings strengths that can help address the challenges they face. She combines a respectful, supportive stance with practical focus to help clients move toward a more fulfilling and happier life.
Dr. Johnston provides care primarily through asynchronous text messaging and prefers this format for its flexibility and convenience. She finds messaging allows clients to refer back to conversations at any time, to exchange multiple messages in a single day when schedules permit, and to respond on their own time without the need for scheduled appointments. Typical response times range from within a few hours to no later than 12 hours, and Dr. Johnston has worked this way for over a year with many clients who find the format helpful. While messaging is not the right option for everyone, she has found it can offer more frequent contact than a weekly live session, and she looks forward to supporting new clients who choose this approach.
For many common concerns—including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or major life transitions—online therapy can be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care. It is a practical option for people seeking help with everyday mental health and interpersonal challenges.
One key benefit is flexibility. Clients can connect with their therapist in the format that works best for them, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to incorporate therapy into busy schedules.
These services are provided by licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they seek a different fit. Online therapy can increase access to regular contact and support while allowing each person to choose the method of communication that feels most comfortable.
