Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a qualified counsellor based in the UK with three years of experience supporting people through trauma, domestic abuse (including narcissistic abuse), bereavement, grief, and loss. I also help clients struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges, as well as those going through major life changes or exploring faith and spirituality.
My interest in counselling comes from my own experiences and the understanding that healing isn’t always straightforward. I know how difficult it can be to feel unheard, misunderstood, or stuck in painful patterns. That’s why I focus on creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly.
I use an integrative approach, which means I blend different therapy methods depending on your needs. Some people benefit from exploring their past and how it shapes their present, while others prefer to focus on practical ways to manage emotions and move forward. I use different elements from approaches like psychodynamic work, attachment theory, CBT techniques, somatic work, and creative therapies—but always in a way that makes sense for you. There’s no set formula, and we’ll work together to find what helps you best.
I know reaching out for help isn’t easy, but you don’t have to go through this alone. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of what you need, I’m here to listen, support, and help you find clarity and a way forward at a pace that feels right for you.

Sonja Rodney is a qualified counsellor practising in the United Kingdom with three years of experience supporting people through trauma, domestic abuse including narcissistic abuse, bereavement, grief and loss. She also works with clients who are managing stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, major life changes, or who are exploring questions of faith and spirituality.
Her interest in counselling grew from her own experiences and a recognition that healing is not always straightforward. She appreciates how isolating it can feel to be unheard, misunderstood or stuck in painful patterns, and she aims to provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space in which clients can explore their thoughts and feelings.
Sonja uses an integrative approach, combining different therapeutic methods to suit each person’s needs. Depending on the client, she draws on elements from psychodynamic work, attachment theory, cognitive behavioural techniques, somatic work and creative therapies, tailoring interventions rather than following a fixed formula.
She offers listening, support and practical ideas at a pace that feels right for the individual, helping people find clarity and take steps toward change.
Many people ask whether online therapy can truly help. For common issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or coping with life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.
One major benefit is flexibility. Clients can connect in the way that suits them best – by video call, phone, live chat or in-app messaging – which can make it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
All therapists involved are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they would prefer a different fit.
