Samuel Staggs

Samuel Staggs is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in Kentucky who has worked with couples and adults across a range of settings. He earned a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling and Human Development from Lindsey Wilson College in 2011 and brings twelve years of clinical experience. Over the course of his career he has engaged with people from urban and rural communities, Christian and atheist perspectives, Appalachian and multicultural backgrounds, and multiple service systems in public and non-profit agencies as well as in practice settings.

His counseling approach emphasizes helping people develop greater mastery over emotions and a stronger sense of self. He focuses on psycho-education, building coping skills, self-control, and self-reliance while addressing current and past life experiences. He describes his role as one of non-judgment, encouragement, and unconditional positive regard for each individual.

Staggs integrates an eclectic, strengths-based, trauma-informed approach and draws on Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused methods. Specialty areas include relationships, grief, career transitions, parenting, trauma and abuse, anxiety and depression, LGBT issues, sleep concerns, and compassion fatigue, alongside a broad list of related focus areas.
