Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a qualified and experienced integrative counsellor, with over 4 years professional experience.
I have experience of working with clients with many different issues, and from all walks of life. In my personal life I support my autistic daughter, and understand the specific mental health challenges that autistic girls face. Late diagnosis, masking, school attendance, anxiety and friendship difficulties can affect the whole family. My daughter also has Tourette Syndrome and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), so I have a lot of first hand experience when it comes to parenting a child with these conditions.
My approach brings in theories from person centred, psychodynamic and CBT modalities, adapted to suit each unique client. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is the most important aspect in counselling. If you feel truly heard, unjudged and treated with respect, you will be able to be your true self in our sessions, helping you to gain a better understanding of yourself.
You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, grief, loss, relationships, health, parenting, abuse or trauma. You may be feeling sad, angry, frustrated, lost, misunderstood, or isolated. Or you might not be able to pinpoint exactly how you’re feeling, or what is causing you problems. Counselling is a chance to talk things through, without judgement and without fear or upsetting anyone or worrying about other people’s feelings. It’s a time to focus solely on you. I will be there to help you unravel your thoughts and feelings, to help you find a way forward.
You may discover that things from the past are still having an impact on you today. I will gently challenge your thought process, exploring why you think, feel and behave in the ways that you do.
If you’re suffering with anxiety or panic attacks we can work out what the triggers are, and find ways to calm your body and mind. This will help restore your confidence, enabling you to get back to doing the things you enjoy.
Don’t worry if you’re feeling a bit nervous, don’t know what to expect from counselling or how to start the conversation. I’m really down to earth, easy to talk to, and will always take things at your pace.
