Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
About me
Hi! I’m Roz Henderson, and I am a qualified Pluralistic Counsellor with a Postgraduate Master’s Degree (MSc) in Counselling. I have also worked in the creative industries and love working with and nurturing creative minds.
My approach
Our sense of self is coloured by our early experiences and in many ways determines our adult choices, emotional reactions and internal dialogue. We absorb and adapt to the difficulties of our caregivers and circumstances, which are often filtered through previous generations of adversity. If this is your experience you may find yourself easily hijacked by strong emotions such as anger, fear, shame, anxiety or self-doubt; feeling easily rejected, judged or inadequate. Perhaps you feel trapped in a dark state where everything seems hopeless.
Maybe the values, beliefs or expectations of your family or culture are at odds with your authentic identity, creating an inner conflict or ‘double bind’. Have you learned to feed an external sense of self – your job, possessions, status – and have lost touch with who you really are? Have you learned to put others first to the detriment of yourself? Maybe you experience attachment anxiety, jumping into romantic relationships too quickly and deeply, or fearing abandonment. Or do you avoid attachment, deciding you are better off by yourself, and yet part of you longs for connection. Does living with underlying anxiety manifests as a physical response that affects your health?
Difficulties in living are not always about the past, and living with difficult family relationships, isolation, grief, loss, worry or prejudice can often leave you feeling anxious, depressed, stuck, shut down, disconnected or drained.
In our sessions together we will create a safe and confidential space to explore your experiences with compassion, acceptance and insight – to bring new perspectives and understandings that help you to reconnect with your authentic self, lifting the burden of grievance, unfairness and self-doubt, learning to trust your inner wisdom and sense of purpose, and to attune to your physical experience.

Rosalind Henderson is a qualified Pluralistic Counsellor who holds a Postgraduate Master’s Degree (MSc) in Counselling. She has worked in the creative industries and enjoys supporting and nurturing creative minds.
Her practice is informed by an understanding that early life experiences shape identity and influence adult choices, emotional responses and internal dialogue. Rosalind works with people who find themselves overwhelmed by strong emotions such as anger, fear, shame, anxiety or self-doubt, or who feel easily rejected, judged or inadequate. She also supports those who feel trapped in hopeless states or who face conflict between family or cultural expectations and their authentic identity – a kind of double bind.
She explores patterns such as prioritising an external sense of self – through job, possessions or status – to the detriment of personal wellbeing, and the habit of putting others first. Rosalind addresses attachment-related difficulties, whether that appears as anxiety and quickly deepening relationships or as avoidance of closeness while still longing for connection. She also recognises how ongoing anxiety can produce physical symptoms that affect overall health.
Rosalind acknowledges that current challenges – difficult family relationships, isolation, grief, loss, worry or experiences of prejudice – can leave people feeling anxious, depressed, stuck, closed off, disconnected or drained.
In therapy sessions she offers a safe and confidential space to explore these experiences with compassion, acceptance and curiosity, with the aim of bringing new perspectives that help clients reconnect with their authentic selves, lift the burden of grievance and self-doubt, learn to trust inner wisdom and rediscover a sense of purpose while becoming more attuned to the body’s experience.
She is a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follows the BACP Ethical Framework for the counselling professions. Rosalind has completed online-therapy training and holds certification with The Online Therapy Institute, carries professional liability insurance and is a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Disclosure Scotland scheme.
