Raj Chehl is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Michigan and Texas with 23 years of experience helping people move from merely surviving to living with greater clarity and emotional balance. Located in Michigan, he combines conventional psychotherapy with complementary practices to support clients in creating lasting mental and emotional well-being.
He earned a Bachelor of Science from North Carolina State University in 1980 and a Master of Arts from Oakland University in 2002. In addition to his counseling credentials, he is a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance, which informs his work by drawing on ancient practices that support emotional, mental, and physical awareness.
Raj approaches therapy as a collaborative process in which he helps clients explore and clarify their needs, examine thoughts and reactions, and make practical changes in behavior and perspective. He uses a flexible, multi-modal method that weaves together person-centered care, cognitive behavioral techniques, existential and psychodynamic insights, Gestalt work, Internal Family Systems, Ketamine Assisted Therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies to meet each person where they are.
He works with individuals, couples, families, teens, and groups on a wide range of concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma and abuse, grief and loss, addictions, eating disorders, relationship and intimacy issues, parenting and family conflict, career difficulties, anger management, self-esteem, compassion fatigue, and life transitions. By fostering greater self-understanding and acceptance, he supports clients in replacing limiting beliefs with more empowering perspectives.
Raj values a safe therapeutic environment where people can practice new ways of relating to themselves and others and, when ready, bring those changes into the rest of their lives. He looks forward to working with those ready to take the next step toward improved emotional health.

Many people wonder whether virtual counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One of the main advantages is convenience and flexibility - clients can connect in the format that best suits them, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and to access support from different locations.
All therapists referred to here are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they feel a different fit would be more helpful. Online therapy makes evidence-based support more accessible while maintaining the professional standards of licensed therapists.
