Precious Genus is a warm, compassionate and empathetic integrative counsellor with 4 years of experience. She has long held a strong desire to support others and brings that commitment into her therapeutic work.
She works with people who have experienced trauma and abuse, bereavement, stress and anxiety, relationship difficulties and family conflict, as well as those navigating depression, parenting challenges, career concerns, self-esteem issues and other life changes. Precious also has a particular interest in working with clients who are neurodiverse - she describes 19 years of extensive professional and personal experience with people on the autism spectrum, with ADHD or other neurological differences.
As an integrative counsellor, Precious draws on multiple counselling models and combines relevant theories and interventions to suit each person’s needs. She takes a holistic approach to therapy and aims to support healing from past traumas while recognising how those experiences can affect many areas of life.
Precious seeks to provide a safe, secure, private and non-judgmental space where clients can explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours at their own pace. Her work is non-directive when that is helpful, and she adapts the pace and style of therapy to fit the individual.
Her qualifications include a Level 3 certificate in hypnotherapy and counselling skills, a Level 4 diploma in counselling skills and theory, and a Level 5 professional diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling practice. She is a registered accredited member of the National Counselling Society. These qualifications reflect progressive formal training from foundational counselling skills to professional-level psychotherapeutic practice.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and coping with life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One of the main benefits is flexibility - clients can connect in the way that suits them best, choosing video calls, phone sessions, live chat or messaging. This variety makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and to maintain continuity of care.
All participating therapists are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they feel a different fit would be more helpful. Online therapy offers an accessible route to professional support for many common mental health and life concerns.
