Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello, my name is Phil a BACP registered counsellor with 14 years of experience. I have my own private practice where I work with clients all over the country.
Counselling can be a big step, so It’s important to have the right person walking along side of you. Talking is so powerful, and it’s about letting those thoughts and feelings out in a safe place to someone who can understand. I’ve had counselling myself, and get how important this is.
I work in a person centred way, but I’m also skilled in mindfulness which is really helpful with anxiety and depression plus CBT, as I think it’s important to find the best path for you.
I specialise in bereavement, life changing illness, anxiety, depression, Loss, LGBTQIA, sexual violence, Domestic violence and Trauma, but I was told when I first started my counselling journey, that everything is linked to a loss, this is a concept I agree with. I have experience of working with lots of different types of people, with lots of different types of struggles e.g loss of loved one, job, confidence, childhood.

Philip Hazlehurst is a BACP-registered counsellor (registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) with 14 years of clinical experience. He runs a private practice and supports clients from across the country.
He believes counselling is a significant step and that having the right practitioner alongside you matters. He values the power of talking and offers a safe space to express thoughts and feelings to someone who understands – an understanding informed by his own experience of having had counselling.
Philip works in a person-centred way and also uses mindfulness techniques that can be helpful for anxiety and depression, alongside cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). He aims to find the most suitable path for each person rather than relying on a single method.
He specialises in bereavement, life-changing illness, anxiety, depression, loss, LGBTQIA issues, sexual violence, domestic violence and trauma. Philip was told early in his counselling career that many difficulties are connected to loss – a concept he shares. He has experience working with a wide range of people facing diverse struggles such as loss of a loved one, job loss, reduced confidence and childhood-related issues. He is a gay, male therapist offering professional support across these areas.
Many people wonder whether talking to a therapist online can really help. For a range of common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges and navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional face-to-face sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility. Clients can connect in the format that suits them best – video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
Therapists offering online work are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they feel a different fit would be better. This approach keeps the focus on finding the right support for each individual’s needs.
