My areas of expertise include relationships, addiction, trauma, suicide, parenting, divorce, medical and mental comorbidity and more.
As a counselor:
I see counseling as a process in which you, the client, and I, the counselor, come to understand and trust one another, work as a team to explore and define present problem situations, develop future goals for an improved life and work in a systematic fashion toward realizing those goals. I believe in motivational counseling and in the importance of a spiritual element ( whatever that means to you) for effective outcomes if thats comfortable for you.
Everybody is different…your counseling experience will be tailored to fit you.
My services include addiction, trauma, interpersonal relationships, self-concept, self-direction, self-efficacy, parenting, and other issues that may affect a client’s ability to cope with their daily activities.
My approach to counseling is from a cognitive-behavioral perspective in which patterns of thoughts and actions are explored in order to better understand the client’s problems and to develop solutions.
A synthesis of techniques may be utilized to better meet the needs of unique clients. As a licensed counselor board-certified supervisor with 20 years of professional counseling experience – Helping clients with stress, anxiety, coping with addictions, relationships, trauma, depression, and divorce, is my passion.
I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Culture and diversity are important to me as well as spirituality, whatever that looks like for you.
I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!

Dr. "MJ" Mignon Jambon is a licensed professional counselor in Texas (TX LPC 70731) and a board-certified supervisor with 20 years of clinical experience. She has served in multiple roles throughout her career, including teaching as a professor at a known university, and maintains a practice focused on practical skills and collaborative work.
She specializes in stress, anxiety, addictions, relationships, trauma and abuse, depression, family issues, grief, parenting, anger, self-esteem, career concerns, bipolar disorder, coping with life changes, coaching, and compassion fatigue, and identifies as a female therapist. Her clinical interests also include suicide, divorce, and medical and mental comorbidity.
Dr. "MJ" approaches counseling as a team process in which the client and clinician develop understanding and trust, define present challenges, set future goals for a better life, and work purposefully toward those goals. She uses motivational counseling and values a spiritual element when that is comfortable for the client. Her work is grounded in cognitive-behavioral ideas – exploring patterns of thought and behavior to find practical solutions – while also drawing on a synthesis of techniques to meet each person’s needs.
She emphasizes punctuality and respect for session time, and she is committed to not cutting sessions short. Dr. "MJ" aims to pair attentive listening with concrete skills so clients experience relief between sessions rather than having to wait. She recognizes that therapy can take time, that some strategies can reduce immediate distress, and that progress sometimes feels slow even when change is occurring.
Dr. "MJ" works to provide a professional, ethical, and compassionate environment, attentive to culture, diversity, and each client’s spiritual perspective. She tailors dialogue and treatment plans to individual needs and is prepared to work as diligently as the client does. Taking the first step to begin therapy can require courage, and she affirms clients for starting that process.
Many people wonder whether remote counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been found to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions for most people.
One major benefit is flexibility – individuals can connect in the format that best fits their schedule and comfort level, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to integrate therapy into a busy life.
Each therapist offering online services is a licensed professional, and clients have the option to switch providers if they need a different fit. Online therapy can provide accessible, practical support for many everyday mental health needs while preserving the same professional standards as face-to-face care.
