Michelle Smith works with people who are trying to adjust to a new “normal,” offering supportive, practical help so they can move forward with greater confidence. She believes that everyone has the potential to create a life that feels meaningful and attainable, and she partners with individuals and families to take concrete steps toward those goals.
With more than 10 years of experience in the mental health field, Michelle brings a range of formal training to her work. She is licensed as a clinical mental health counselor in both New Hampshire and Florida. Her training includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Clinical Hypnosis, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and she is a nationally certified provider of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Michelle draws from these approaches in an eclectic way to meet each person’s unique needs.
Michelle has supported clients from many age groups and diverse ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds. She uses a client-centered, non-judgmental style and aims to meet clients where they are, guiding them through uncertain periods toward achievable goals. Reaching out for help takes courage, and Michelle welcomes the opportunity to offer a fresh perspective and assist clients as they work toward their potential.
