Mee-Hyea Kim is a licensed professional counselor in New Jersey with seven years of clinical experience as an LPC and a Master’s degree in Psychoanalytic Counseling from Centenary College, affiliated with the Academy of Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis. She is trained in Modern Psychoanalysis and in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and she also brings fifteen years of experience working for mental health agencies in both Bergen and Morris Counties.
Her work has included children, adults, and couples from a wide range of religious, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds, supporting people who struggle with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, trauma, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse. She has provided care in diverse clinical settings such as in-home therapy, residential treatment centers, group homes, partial care programs, and psychiatric hospitals, and she has substantial experience in crisis intervention as part of the Bergen County Psychiatric Screening Program.
Mee-Hyea’s therapeutic stance is collaborative and down-to-earth. She partners with clients in a supportive, non-judgmental, and thought-provoking way to foster positive change, cultivate mindfulness, build healthy coping skills, and deepen insight into emotional well-being. She listens to each person’s story and helps navigate past traumas and experiences so clients can work toward breaking free from patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, panic, and stress. Mee-Hyea is available for phone and telehealth sessions for convenience and accessibility.
She looks forward to working with individuals and families on their journey toward improved mental health.
