Maurice Pritchard has worked in the mental health profession since 1983 and has been counseling individuals and groups for almost 40 years. He earned a master’s degree in 2007 and has held roles across a range of care settings, including evaluation and treatment facilities, crisis centers, residential programs and community mental health centers.
Over the course of his career he has supported a broad spectrum of people in individual, couples and group formats, addressing concerns such as depression, anxiety, PTSD – including work with veterans – grief and loss, crisis intervention and anger management, including court-ordered programs. He also assists clients facing relationship and family conflicts, issues of self-esteem, addictions, eating and sleeping disorders, parenting and career difficulties, bipolar disorder and other life transitions.
His primary clinical orientation is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy, while also incorporating techniques from mindfulness practice, dialectical behavior therapy, illness management and recovery (IMR), and approaches that consider personality and trait patterns. Maurice emphasizes a client-centered stance, seeing himself as present to support clients rather than to direct them, and he holds a strong belief that people have the capacity to make positive, lasting changes when they choose to pursue them.

Many people wonder whether working with a therapist online can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and adjusting to life changes, research and practice indicate that remote therapy can be as effective as in-person sessions for most people.
One of the primary benefits is convenience and flexibility – clients can meet with a therapist in the format that best fits their life, whether by video call, phone, live chat or in-app messaging. This variety of options makes it easier to integrate therapy into a busy schedule or to access care from a distance.
Sessions are provided by licensed professionals, and if a client decides a different therapist would be a better fit they can switch at any time. For many people, online therapy offers a practical, effective path to addressing everyday mental health concerns while maintaining the structure and support of professional treatment.
