Mark Schiffman is a New York-based therapist with a Master’s degree from New York University and 25 years of clinical experience. He is a licensed clinical social worker in New York who helps clients release physical and emotional pain so they can let go of worry, stress, dissatisfaction, and sadness.
He develops individualized strategies to help clients and their loved ones define and reach goals, foster positive energy, and maximize potential. His practice includes individual, family, and group work tailored to each person’s needs.
Mark works with both children and adults. For younger clients he uses play therapy and behavioral techniques within a safe, nurturing environment. With all clients he provides compassionate listening, reflective exploration, and a non-judgmental, supportive space to work through concerns.
His clinical approaches include insight-oriented modalities, behavior modification, dialectical behavioral methods, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and trauma-based treatment. He addresses a broad range of issues including stress, anxiety, addictions, LGBT concerns, relationship and family conflicts, depression, trauma and abuse, grief, intimacy matters, eating and sleeping disorders, parenting challenges, anger management, self-esteem, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, coping with life changes, coaching, compassion fatigue, and ADHD.
For many common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person care. Research and practice suggest that remote sessions are a viable option for addressing these everyday mental health needs.
One major benefit is flexibility - clients can choose the mode of connection that works best for them, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility helps make therapy easier to fit into a busy schedule.
Licensed professionals provide online therapy, and clients may switch therapists at any time if they feel a different fit would be better. The combination of effectiveness for common issues and convenient access makes online therapy a practical choice for many people seeking support.
