Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello, my name is Louise and I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. Making the decision to see a counsellor can take an immense amount of courage – to acknowledge that you may need some help in talking through and making sense of some of the feelings causing you difficulties. Choosing a counsellor can be difficult too: can you trust this person to help you feel safe, heard and respected?
I believe that you are the expert on your life, but perhaps I can help you see things through a different lens, and together we can gain a deeper understanding, finding a way through to you building a better, more fulfilling life.
I offer a safe, warm and empathetic environment, where together we can explore your thoughts and feelings. We may look at understanding what is happening in your life now, perhaps linking that back to your early relationships and experiences, or we may focus on one or two areas which are currently challenging you, but we will always go at a pace that is right for you.
I have worked with many adults who have sought help to talk through the difficulties they are experiencing, and I understand that everyone’s story is unique. I will never regard you as just a diagnosis or disorder, but will work with you and adapt my approach to suit you and your individual needs. I hold the belief that we all have the potential for change and growth, but that sometimes this needs to be nurtured.

Louise Smith is a qualified and experienced counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. With seven years of experience, she recognises that deciding to see a counsellor takes real courage – acknowledging the need for help to make sense of feelings that are causing difficulty.
Choosing a counsellor can feel challenging – can this person help you feel safe, heard and respected? Louise aims to offer that sense of trust and understanding as part of the therapeutic relationship.
She works from the belief that each person is the expert on their own life, while offering a different lens to explore patterns and possibilities. Together she and the client can build a deeper understanding and find ways to create a more fulfilling life.
Louise provides a warm, empathic space in which thoughts and feelings can be explored. Sessions may focus on what is happening in the present, sometimes linking current difficulties back to earlier relationships and experiences, or they may concentrate on one or two areas that are most pressing. The pace of work is always guided by what feels right for the individual.
She has supported many adults through a range of challenges and recognises that every story is unique. Louise will not treat someone as merely a diagnosis or label – her approach is adapted to the person in front of her. She holds a hopeful view that people have the capacity for change and growth, and that this potential can be nurtured with appropriate support.
Many people wonder whether therapy delivered online can truly help. For a range of common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes – online therapy has been found to be just as effective as traditional in-person work.
One of the main benefits is greater flexibility. Clients can connect in the way that suits them best – by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging – making it easier to fit therapy into busy lives.
Therapists offering online sessions are licensed professionals, and if someone decides a different match would be better they can switch practitioners at any time.
