I am a fully qualified and insured counsellor who is registered with the British Association for counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work in accordance with the Ethical Framework set by the BACP, and receive monthly clinical supervision. I am DBS and GDPR compliant. Over the past 7 years I have provided counselling for Leicester Woman’s Counselling Centre, and First Step – who support male survivors of sexual abuse and rape. I have vast experience of working with anxiety, depression, and complex trauma, and regularly attend CPD workshops and specialised training in order to support and enhance my practice.
I originally qualified as a Holistic Therapist in 1998 and spent many years helping my clients improve their general wellbeing. Over time I began to notice that although my clients found the physical treatments relaxing, it was the ‘talk time’ that was proving to be as equally beneficial to how they felt afterwards. Without realising it I had provided them with a safe, empathic, caring, non-judgemental space where they felt comfortable to explore the aspects of their life that were troubling them – in essence they were experiencing the core counselling conditions. Since initially qualifying as a person-centred counsellor, I would now describe my approach as integrative, and always holistically tailored to my clients needs.

Lisa originally qualified as a Holistic Therapist in 1998 and spent many years helping clients improve their general wellbeing. In that work she noticed that although physical treatments were relaxing, the time spent talking often produced equally meaningful benefits. Without realising it she had been offering a safe, empathic, caring and non-judgemental space where people felt able to explore the aspects of life that were troubling them, effectively providing the core counselling conditions.
Having initially qualified as a person-centred counsellor, she now describes her approach as integrative and holistically tailored to each client’s needs.
