Leslie Mulligan is a licensed therapist practicing in Maine with 24 years of clinical experience. She works with individuals ages 14 to 90, as well as with couples, families, and groups, providing care across a broad range of concerns.
She assists people with stress, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, self-esteem struggles, coping with life changes, addictions, LGBTQ-related concerns, family conflicts, grief, intimacy-related issues, eating and sleeping disorders, parenting challenges, anger management, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, depression, ADHD, coaching needs, and compassion fatigue. She helps clients address mood instability, relationship and family problems, health- and sleep-related stress, career strain, and life-stage matters such as aging, bereavement, sexuality, and spiritual questions.
For a decade she provided recovery services for military combat and sexual trauma to active duty, reserve, and guard members and their families, as well as to first responders. Her counseling style is warm, direct, present-centered, creative, and interactive, and she brings an objective, non-judgmental stance to the therapeutic relationship.
Leslie practices with a trauma-sensitive framework that blends cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, mindfulness, wellness, and art therapy techniques. Sessions are shaped by each person’s specific needs and goals, with the aim of deepening enjoyment in life and strengthening personal empowerment. She values honesty, cultural sensitivity, and respectful human connection, and practices as a holistic, body-centered clinician who attends to mind, body, heart, thought, spirit, and life experience as contributors to quality and meaning.
She holds licensure to practice as a clinical mental health counselor in North Carolina and as a licensed clinical professional counselor in Maine. Leslie invites prospective clients to connect to explore how therapy can help them move toward their next stage of life.
