Leanne Kemp offers a warm, open and non-judgemental space for people to explore what is affecting them. She adopts a client-centred approach in counselling - placing each person’s unique needs and struggles at the heart of the work rather than directing or advising on what to do.
She is a counselling psychotherapist and psychologist with 13 years of experience, having worked as a counsellor and a specialist mental health mentor. Leanne has supported people from diverse backgrounds through personal, professional, spiritual and mental health challenges.
Her practice covers a wide range of issues including depression and anxiety, bereavement and loss, relationship difficulties, significant childhood events such as trauma, abuse and bullying, parenting concerns, work-related stress and struggles with self-confidence. She has considerable experience supporting people who have experienced trauma and domestic abuse, both physical and emotional.
Leanne is experienced in working with neurodivergent clients, including those with an autistic diagnosis, ADHD and dyspraxia, and is able to offer support to people with additional needs. She is an Accredited (experienced) member of the British Association of Counselling Psychology (BACP), which guides her ethical and professional practice.
She has helped many people through the counselling process and aims to assist individuals in finding a way forward. Leanne considers it a privilege to support people as they take the next step in therapeutic change and healing through counselling.
Many people ask whether online therapy can make a real difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions for most people.
One of the main benefits is flexibility - clients can connect in the way that suits them best, whether that is a video call, a phone session, live chat or in-app messaging. This variety makes it simpler to fit therapy into a busy schedule and to choose the mode of communication that feels most comfortable.
Therapists offering online sessions are licensed professionals, and it is possible to change therapists if a different fit is preferred. For many people, online therapy provides an accessible and effective route to addressing everyday mental health concerns and life transitions.
