Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a licensed professional therapist currently based in Texas. I graduated with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, with a certificate in Trauma Therapy. My experience includes working with couples, families, college students, and children from age 8-teens. I provide premarital counseling, marriage therapy, sex therapy, and individual therapy. I have worked with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, abuse, adoption issues, and adjustment disorders.
My therapy style involves understanding the client from their point of view. I work from a holistic view, believing all systems of the body; physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual, help in the healing process. I especially love emotionally focused therapy and narrative therapy, but include other therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and family systems. I have been trained in EMDR and have found it can be utilized in many areas, but especially with trauma.
Before becoming a therapist I worked as an RN for 20 years, graduating with my Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University. Thirteen of those years were as a hospice nurse, so end of life care and grief counseling has been a big part of my life. I incorporate my medical background in the therapy process.
I want to hear your story and look forward to working with you!

Laverna Soucie is a licensed professional counselor based in Texas with six years of clinical experience. She earned a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and completed a certificate in Trauma Therapy.
She has worked with couples, families, college students, and children ages eight through the teen years, providing premarital counseling, marriage therapy, sex therapy, and individual therapy. Her clinical work has addressed anxiety, depression, grief, trauma and abuse, adoption-related issues, and adjustment disorders.
Before becoming a therapist, she practiced as a registered nurse for 20 years after earning a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University. Thirteen of those years were spent as a hospice nurse, making end-of-life care and grief counseling a significant part of her professional background. She weaves that medical experience into her therapeutic work.
Her approach centers on understanding each person from their point of view and on a holistic view of healing – recognizing how physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual systems interact. She especially values emotionally focused therapy and narrative therapy while also drawing on cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and family systems approaches. She is trained in EMDR and finds it especially useful when working with trauma.
She is licensed to practice professional counseling in both Texas and Tennessee (state counseling licenses TX LPC 82600 and TN LPC 5736). She looks forward to hearing each client’s story and collaborating with them in the healing process.
