Laura Braswell is a licensed clinical social worker in Florida who blends formal training with extensive personal experience to support individuals and families. She completed post-graduate studies at Rutgers University and Princeton and holds a Master of Divinity with a counseling focus, combining clinical knowledge with spiritual formation.
At 48 years old, Laura brings both professional and lived perspective to her work. She has been married for 22 years, is the mother of six children, and has cared for many foster children. Over the course of her career she has worked in multiple clinical settings and has provided group, individual, and couples counseling.
With three years of clinical experience, Laura helps people facing a wide range of challenges, including stress and anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, family conflicts and complex parenting issues, addictions, relationship concerns, grief and loss, adoption and fertility matters, eating and sleeping disorders, anger management, self-esteem struggles, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, ADHD, intimacy-related issues, and compassion fatigue. She also offers coaching to support clients in setting and reaching personal goals.
Laura believes people are capable of moving toward radical healing when they receive practical help, motivation, and spiritual guidance. As an older counselor who has navigated many life experiences firsthand, she aims to speak from experience as well as clinical knowledge, which helps her connect with clients and understand what they need. She emphasizes that difficult circumstances do not have to be hopeless and that while individuals cannot change others, they can change themselves and how they respond to relationships and behaviors.
Laura invites people who are ready to take a first step toward change to work with her as she shares her time and expertise to help them discover greater purpose and reach their potential.
For many common concerns - such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or major life transitions - online therapy can be an effective option comparable to traditional in-person care. Research and clinical practice have shown that remote sessions work well for a wide range of everyday mental health needs.
One of the main advantages is flexibility. Clients can connect with therapists in whatever format they find most comfortable - video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging - which makes it easier to fit counseling into busy schedules and varied lifestyles.
All therapists offering online services are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they seek a different fit. This approach helps people access consistent support while finding the therapeutic relationship that best meets their needs.
