Senia Wood recognises that reaching out for support takes courage and that starting therapy can feel daunting. Whether someone is feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to begin, she views taking that first step as an important move toward change and offers to walk alongside clients through the process.
Her work centres on creating a warm, trusting and non-judgemental space where individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings at a pace that feels right for them. Senia believes that being heard, accepted and understood can significantly affect emotional wellbeing and the ability to move forward.
Senia’s approach is human and relational rather than medical or diagnostic. She brings kindness, intuition and respect into each session and adapts the work to reflect each person’s unique needs and goals. She treats clients as whole people rather than a list of symptoms and works in partnership with them in a gentle, collaborative way.
She is a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor and a Registered Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), which means she works to recognised professional and ethical standards. Senia is also trained to deliver therapy online and by phone through ACTO-approved training (Association for Counselling and Therapy Online, UK). Her practice is integrative with a strong humanistic foundation and she draws particularly on Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed therapy to support deeper self-understanding, healing and the development of inner harmony and self-trust.
Over the past six years she has supported people with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, low mood, stress and emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, low self-worth, trauma and childhood abuse, addiction, grief and major life changes. She places a particular emphasis on trauma-informed care and offers support for those affected by developmental trauma, adverse childhood experiences or overwhelming life events.
Having lived and studied across different cultures, Senia brings an appreciation for the richness and complexity of diverse life experiences and offers sensitivity to matters of identity, difference and belonging. She understands how challenging it can be to move between cultures and to find a sense of place and connection.
Senia aims to provide a supportive, nonjudgemental space where each person’s story is met with care and understanding. Her intention is to help clients feel more grounded, whole and able to live with greater clarity, meaning and ease. Whether someone is ready to begin or still feeling unsure, she is available to walk alongside them with respect and compassion.
For new clients she offers video sessions only and asks for a stable internet connection. She has found that meeting face-to-face, even virtually, gives the best opportunity to build comfort and safety early on and supports a stronger, more trusting therapeutic relationship. She looks forward to the opportunity to work together.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can make a meaningful difference. For many common concerns - including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and navigating life changes - online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One of the principal benefits is flexibility. Clients can connect in the way that suits them best - by video call, phone session, live chat or in-app messaging - which can make it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
Therapists offering remote work are licensed professionals, and if someone feels they need a different fit they can switch therapists at any time. For a wide range of everyday mental health and relationship challenges, online therapy provides an accessible, effective option for many people.
