Khafayah Abdulsalam

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Asalam Alaykum and Hello! I’m Khafayah.

I’m a Muslim counsellor and psychotherapist, an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), an Accredited Registrant of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), and a Member of the Muslim Counsellors and Psychotherapists Network (MCAPN).

I’m also a trained Islamic counsellor. I offer the option to integrate Islamic counselling principles into our work, including Qur’anic reflections, du’a, the Names of Allah, and a spiritually grounded understanding of emotional healing.

My approach is trauma-informed and integrative, which means I tailor therapy to your individual needs. I draw from person-centred counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), emotional regulation tools, reflective journaling, and — when requested — Islamic guidance that honours your faith as a source of strength.

I support clients working through:
Emotional overwhelm, anxiety, grief, or burnout
Toxic, narcissistic, or spiritually abusive relationships
Low self-worth, shame, and internal conflict
Cultural or religious identity struggles
Feeling emotionally lost or silenced in faith and family systems

Many of the women I work with are African or Muslim, carrying emotional wounds shaped by silence, spiritual confusion, or cultural expectations. I provide a calm, respectful space for you to explore your story, release what no longer serves you, and rebuild your connection with yourself and Allah.

Therapy with me is not about quick fixes. It’s about returning to the version of yourself that Allah already sees as whole, resilient, and deeply loved.

I offer remote therapy via secure video, phone, or messaging and engage in regular clinical supervision to ensure ethical, effective support in accordance with BACP guidelines.

If you’re ready to begin your healing journey, I would be honoured to walk beside you.

I am here to help and support you through issues or challenges you want to work with to make better life choices, so you can live the life you design for yourself!

About

Khafayah Abdulsalam is a Muslim counsellor and psychotherapist based in the United Kingdom with five years of clinical experience. She is an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), an Accredited Registrant of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), and a member of the Muslim Counsellors and Psychotherapists Network (MCAPN). These memberships reflect recognised professional standards and a commitment to ongoing practice and supervision.

Trained as an Islamic counsellor, Khafayah offers the option to integrate faith-informed practices into therapy when clients wish. This can include Qur’anic reflections, du’a, reflection on the Names of Allah, and other spiritually grounded perspectives on emotional healing that honour a client’s beliefs.

Her therapeutic stance is trauma-informed and integrative, tailoring sessions to each person’s needs. She draws on person-centred counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), emotional regulation strategies, and reflective journaling, and blends these with faith-based guidance when requested.

Khafayah supports people working through emotional overwhelm, anxiety, grief, burnout, toxic or spiritually abusive relationships, low self-worth, shame, internal conflict, cultural or religious identity struggles, and feelings of being emotionally lost or silenced within faith and family systems.

Many of the women she sees are African or Muslim and bring wounds shaped by silence, spiritual confusion, or cultural expectations. Khafayah offers a calm, respectful space to explore personal stories, let go of what no longer serves, and rebuild a sense of self and spiritual connection.

She approaches therapy as a process rather than a quick fix, emphasising restoration to the resilient, whole person that Allah already recognises. Khafayah provides remote therapy through secure video, phone, or messaging, and she engages in regular clinical supervision to maintain ethical, effective practice in line with BACP guidelines. She is available to walk alongside clients who are ready to begin their healing journey.

Is Online Therapy the Right Choice for Your Mental Health Journey?

Many people wonder whether remote therapy truly helps. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person work for most people. One of the main advantages is flexibility – clients can choose the format that fits their life, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to attend sessions consistently and to continue therapy amid busy schedules or changing circumstances. Therapists are licensed professionals, and if someone feels they need a different fit they can switch practitioners. For many, online therapy offers an accessible, effective way to engage in meaningful therapeutic work without sacrificing professional standards or continuity of care.
