I am a Clinical Social Worker licensed in Connecticut over 15 years of experience working as a Social Worker and Clinician. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, PTSD, chronic and persistent mental illness, self esteem issues, relationship issues and life changes. I have worked extensively with military members (Active Duty and Veterans) and have also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse (both combat and non-combat related).
My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach is always trauma informed, and I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma informed approach (ARC Trained), and Mind Body Resiliency (MBRT) Master Trainer. I am committed to being Client focused and strengths based. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

Karen Buroff is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 15 years of experience working as a social worker and clinician. She has supported people facing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, PTSD and other trauma-related conditions, chronic and persistent mental illness, self-esteem and relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. She has extensive experience working with military members – both active duty service members and veterans – and has also assisted many individuals who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse in both combat and non-combat contexts.
Karen’s therapeutic approach is warm and interactive, grounded in respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Her work is consistently trauma-informed, and she integrates evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with trauma-informed practices (ARC-trained) and mind-body resilience techniques (as an MBRT Master Trainer).
She maintains a client-focused, strengths-based orientation and tailors conversations and treatment plans to meet each person’s specific needs. Karen aims to create a collaborative space where clients can build practical skills and greater resilience.
