Karen Buroff is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 15 years of experience working as a social worker and clinician. She has supported people facing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, PTSD and other trauma-related conditions, chronic and persistent mental illness, self-esteem and relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. She has extensive experience working with military members - both active duty service members and veterans - and has also assisted many individuals who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse in both combat and non-combat contexts.
Karen’s therapeutic approach is warm and interactive, grounded in respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Her work is consistently trauma-informed, and she integrates evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with trauma-informed practices (ARC-trained) and mind-body resilience techniques (as an MBRT Master Trainer).
She maintains a client-focused, strengths-based orientation and tailors conversations and treatment plans to meet each person’s specific needs. Karen aims to create a collaborative space where clients can build practical skills and greater resilience.
Seeking change takes courage, and Karen is committed to supporting and empowering people who are ready to take that first step toward a more fulfilling life. She looks forward to working with new clients in California and beyond.
