Jorrene Vaughn is a Michigan-based therapist with thirty years of clinical experience working in private practice alongside her husband, who is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Her background includes work in a psychiatric hospital, a Veterans Administration hospital, and a Partial Hospital program, as well as ongoing outpatient practice. In these settings she has supported people with a wide range of emotional concerns, including depression, anxiety, problems with trust and shame, and more complex sources of emotional distress.
Her professional training and supervision have been in interpersonal, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavior therapy, and she brings those approaches to bear as appropriate. Central to her work, however, is the authentic therapeutic relationship - a fully present connection between therapist and client that decades of research identify as a powerful component of healing.
Vaughn aims to help clients gain understanding and find direction for themselves. She does not tell people what to do and only rarely offers direct advice, preferring to guide clients toward their own decisions. She holds a Michigan Licensed Master of Social Work credential (MI LMSW 6801067409) and offers care from an experienced, compassionate perspective. She hopes this aligns with what prospective clients are seeking and looks forward to the opportunity to work with them.
For many common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person sessions. Research and clinical experience indicate that for these issues, remote care yields meaningful outcomes similar to face-to-face therapy.
One major benefit of remote counseling is flexibility - clients can connect in the format that fits their lives best, whether by video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That convenience makes it easier to maintain regular sessions and integrate therapeutic work into a busy schedule.
These services are delivered by licensed professionals and therapists, and if a client decides they would prefer a different therapeutic fit, switching to another therapist is an option. Online therapy offers a practical, adaptable way to access professional support for many everyday mental health and life concerns.
