Jodi Smith

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Hi there, my name is Jodi Smith and I am a qualified as a person centred counsellor. Since qualifying I have been working with a wide range of individuals, supporting them in managing their mental health and working alongside them to better their well-being. I have worked digitally and face to face with individuals and have experience of offering telephone and text based support as well. I have supported people through a range of issues and I feel confident that I will have something to offer you too.

I am very passionate about mental health – and I don’t believe that any 1 person has only good or bad mental health, or indeed that there are mental health ‘problems’. I believe that our mental health is fluid and will fluctuate and that whatever stage we are in, this does not have to define us entirely. That said, I am by no means minimising how difficult it can be when we are struggling with mental health, I myself have experienced difficulties in maintaining balance and have found it difficult to take care of my mental health and I know how hard it can be. I work with compassion and empathy, working along side you, facilitating reflective conversations that will hopefully allow you to understand yourself, your circumstances and your behaviours better. I work from the premise that you know yourself best and ultimately know what you need, my hope is simply to help you uncover those things, working with you to achieve your goals.

I hold my level 4 diploma in therapeutic counselling and have undertaken training in coaching and mentoring also. I am currently undertaking further qualifications in clinical supervision which demonstrates my my experience and seniority within the counselling space. I am committed to undertaken regular professional development which recently has included safeguarding training, working on line, working in a trauma informed way and working with goals.

When working with you I rely not only only my education and training, but also my personal experience and importantly my curiosity about you. I work ethically and am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I truly look forward to working with you and encourage you to reach out to me if you have any questions or want to know more about me and my working style. Take care, Jodi

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people wonder whether remote therapy can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles or adjusting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions for most people.

One major benefit is flexibility – you can connect in the format that suits you best, whether that is a video call, a phone session, live chat or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy around work, family and other commitments.

Each therapist involved is a licensed professional, and you have the option to switch providers if you feel a different fit would be better. Online therapy can be an accessible and practical way to receive professional support for everyday mental health concerns.
