Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
It isn’t easy reaching out for help and support as there are often so many unknowns. You’ve made the right step in seeking support for yourself.
You may be experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, depression and other difficult emotions that are affecting how you feel about yourself and how you relate to others. My aim is to support you with whatever you have that is going on. We will work together to explore your world so you can gain a deeper understanding of your unique situation and self in order to feel better.
My approach is Integrative: meaning, I will use a diverse range of approaches to work with you. However, at the core of everything is you and what feels right for you. Counselling is a transformative process and one you won’t have to go through on your own. It’s as much about the relationship as it is about the work.
If you are matched with me, then we’ll discuss your wants and needs from talking therapy and what I can support with.
If after our first initial conversation you or I feel that we might not be a good fit, or that I do not have the expertise you require to support you with your needs, then I’ll work to help find you the right person.
My schedule is mainly in the evening Monday to Friday with a few available open slots. Primarily sessions will be video calls, however, I can also offer telephone calls as well. Sessions are delivered on a short term or long-term basis with reviews often.

Reaching out for support can feel daunting when so much is unknown, and Joanne Shipp recognises that first step as significant. She supports people experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, depression and other difficult emotions that can affect self-image and relationships, and aims to help with whatever is currently causing distress.
Joanne adopts an integrative approach, drawing on a range of therapeutic methods while keeping the client’s needs and preferences central to the work. She and the client work together to explore the client’s world, building a deeper understanding of the unique situation and self so that progress toward feeling better is possible.
Counselling is viewed as a transformative process that relies on the relationship as much as the therapeutic techniques, and Joanne offers collaborative support throughout that journey. If a match is made, she will clarify what the client wants from therapy and outline how she can help. Should either party feel the fit is not right after the initial conversation, or if Joanne does not have the specific expertise required, she will assist in finding a more suitable practitioner.
Her schedule is mainly in the evenings from Monday to Friday with a few open slots. Sessions are primarily delivered by video call, though telephone sessions can also be offered. Therapy can be provided on a short-term or long-term basis, with periodic reviews to assess progress and needs.
Many people ask whether online therapy can truly help, and for a range of common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or coping with life changes – online therapy has been found to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional face-to-face sessions.
A key benefit is flexibility – clients can connect in the way that suits them best, choosing video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility often makes it simpler to fit therapy into a busy life and maintain continuity of care.
Therapists offering online work are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they prefer a different fit. For many people, this combination of evidence-based effectiveness and practical convenience makes online therapy a viable option to consider.
