Joanne Rothery is a qualified counselling therapist trained in the Person-Centred approach and is licensed to practise in the United Kingdom. She brings four years of professional experience to her work and speaks from lived experience about how stress, anxiety and trauma can shape everyday life.
Joanne aims to provide a space where people feel safe and comfortable to talk so they do not have to manage difficult experiences alone. She works alongside clients in a calm, accepting manner and is open to whatever they bring to sessions.
Her experience includes supporting people with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, trauma and abuse, motivation, self-esteem and confidence. She approaches each person with respect, sensitivity and compassion.
Clients are placed at the centre of the therapeutic process. Joanne seeks to create a space that feels like being held by a “safe pair of hands” and welcomes all parts of a person - the painful and despairing as well as the hopeful and joyful. Some people come to explore changes that might help them feel calmer and more content, others want to reconnect with a previous sense of self, and some simply need someone to talk to during a difficult time.
Many people ask whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, evidence shows that online therapy is often as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility - clients can connect in the way that suits them best, whether that is by video call, phone session, live chat or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and to maintain continuity of care.
Therapy delivered online is provided by licensed professionals, and if someone feels they need a different fit they can change therapists at any time. For many people, remote sessions provide a practical and effective route to getting support when they need it.
