Jennifer Wickham is a Wisconsin-licensed professional counselor with 26 years of direct clinical experience working with new parents and infants, children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and families. She has provided care in settings that include an inpatient residential treatment center for adolescents and a community mental health clinic, and she also serves as a consultant for the Wisconsin Association for Infant Mental Health (WI-AIMH).
She earned a Master’s degree in mental health counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1999 and has completed specialized training at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in infant, early childhood, and family mental health. Her clinical training includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), child-parent psychotherapy (CPP), and reflective practices such as yoga and meditation.
Jennifer approaches therapy with a whole-life perspective, emphasizing the person rather than only a diagnosis. She strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental space that welcomes people from diverse backgrounds and supports clients in finding a life worth living. Psychotherapy is framed as a collaborative process in which she and the client move at the client’s pace to identify strengths, build new skills, and foster lasting change.
Outside of clinical work, she is a parent of a teenager, trains for RAGNAR road or trail races, practices yoga, plays the viola, and enjoys learning, reading, and crafting. She offers appointments on weekday evenings and weekend mornings and evenings in Central Standard Time.
