Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am licensed as a L.C.S.W. (Licensed Clinical Social Worker). This license allows me to do clinical work such as psychotherapy in the state of North Carolina. My Master’s Degree in Social Work had an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have over 30 years of professional work experience. In that time, I have worked with children, adolescents, couples, adult and the elderly. I have worked in in-patient settings, out-patient, residential treatment, Intensive Outpatient and private practice in the areas of both mental/behavioral health and alcohol/drug issues. My work has included both individuals and families, including stepfamilies.
My training was primarily in the area of Family Systems, and those ideas are the basic underpinnings of my work. I try to meet my clients where they are at and where they feel comfortable as a starting point. Dependent upon the issues presented and your goals, I may or may not seek to delve into past family origin issues. In short, therapy can be solution focused and rooted in present day experiences and concerns. A lot of my work is guiding people to learn to change their thoughts and behaviors. I have had extensive training in the areas of treating Trauma, and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion work as both areas often impact people on a daily basis.
Many people opt for ongoing therapy as a way to check in and hold themselves accountable for the changes they made as a result of therapy. But therapy does not have to be a long, drawn-out process of attendance in order to be effective. Sometimes a few sessions may be all that is needed to help someone regain a sense of confidence and problem resolution. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage as it can be scary revealing information to a stranger. But you will never know how it may benefit you unless you try it. I hope the journey for you is one that brings enlightenment, strength and a renewed sense of yourself.

Janice Brovet is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (NC LCSW C011409), authorized to provide psychotherapy in North Carolina.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and brings 31 years of professional experience to her clinical work.
Over the course of her career she has worked with children, adolescents, couples, adults, and the elderly in a variety of settings including in-patient, out-patient, residential treatment, Intensive Outpatient programs, and private practice. Her clinical experience spans both mental and behavioral health as well as alcohol and drug issues, and she has provided services to individuals and families, including stepfamilies.
Her training is rooted primarily in Family Systems theory, which informs the foundation of her approach. She begins by meeting clients where they are and creating a comfortable starting point. Depending on the issues presented and the client’s goals, she may explore past family-of-origin patterns or focus on present-day concerns with a solution-focused orientation.
Much of her work involves guiding people to change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. She has also completed extensive training in treating trauma and in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion work, recognizing how these factors often influence daily life.
Some people choose ongoing therapy for regular check-ins and accountability, while others find that just a few sessions are sufficient to regain confidence and resolve problems. She aims to create an open, nonjudgmental environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared safely. Taking the first step into therapy can be intimidating, but she hopes the process brings clients greater understanding, strength, and a renewed sense of self.
