Gavin Reid is a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor whose practice is grounded in a person-centred approach. He offers a safe, non-judgmental and affirming space, with particular focus on LGBTQ+ clients and people navigating sexualised drug use, addiction, sexual health, questions of identity, relationship issues and general mental well-being.
Drawing on extensive experience working within LGBTQ+ communities and his own lived experience, Gavin understands challenges that can include stigma, shame, addiction and the complex dynamics of intimacy and connection. He integrates a range of therapeutic methods - including CBT, Transactional Analysis (TA) and mindfulness techniques - to shape support around each person’s needs, while keeping a person-centred foundation so therapy is led by the client at their own pace.
Gavin aims to help clients build greater self-acceptance, resilience and meaningful change that aligns with their values and life experience. He holds a foundation degree in counselling, a diploma in Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversity Therapy, and has qualifications for working with trauma. Gavin is a gay, older male therapist who is non-religious and describes himself as liberal, and he brings four years of professional experience to his practice in the United Kingdom.
