Fiona Waddle

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read through my profile.
I am qualified in psychotherapeutic counselling to post graduate level PG(DIP) BA(HONS) and licensed with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) in the UK; with over 8 years of experience working as a therapist, in the psychological therapies department of a hospice, a wellbeing clinic and in private practice. I help people who are experiencing all kinds of difficulties including relationship problems, the impact of trauma, domestic abuse, anxiety and self-doubt, coping with grief and loss, & parenting issues.
Working alongside my clients I aim to create a confidential, open, understanding and safe space, where complicated thoughts and feelings can be shared and explored.
Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take much courage and energy and I would like to make the process as comfortable and effective as possible for you.
My therapeutic approach is integrative; I work from a person centered base, integrating elements of different therapeutic resources, including attachment theory, trauma informed practice, mindfulness, cbt, creative arts and the outdoor environment.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I work in accordance with the Ethical Framework and have regular supervision to ensure best practice. I also make time to focus on my professional development and training. Most recently I have completed trainings in Compassion Focussed Therapy and CBT for Menopause .

Many moons ago I achieved my degree in Fine Art; my journey as a therapist began when I was working as a participatory artist with groups of people in community, education and health settings. Often during workshops, as participants accessed their creative flow, they would also feel comfortable and safe enough to share their thoughts and feelings, and it became my goal to respond and support in the best possible way. I also experienced counselling for myself, and felt that it was a revelation to be listened to, without judgement, and be heard with genuine compassion, understanding and empathy by my therapist; all of this inspired me to study and train to be a therapist myself.

My belief and experience is that therapy gives us the opportunity to unravel and make sense of confusing and complicated thoughts and feelings – this creates a positive impact on our emotional, physical and spiritual well being and allows us to move forward in our lives with increased reslience, awareness, self-care and emotional regulation.

In addition to my private therapy practice I am employed by a national UK charity to deliver therapeutic and psychoeducational groupwork with people who have experienced domestic abuse.

When I am away from work I enjoy spending time with family and friends and love to walk in beautiful places in nature with my adopted rescue greyhound.

You are very welcome to get in touch and I look forward to us working together. I offer video, telephone and text sessions.

About

Fiona Waddle is a psychotherapeutic counsellor qualified to postgraduate diploma level (PGDip) and holding a BA (Hons). She is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and has seven years of practice experience across a hospice psychological therapies department, a wellbeing clinic, and in private practice.

She works with people facing a range of difficulties, including relationship problems, the impact of trauma and domestic abuse, anxiety and self-doubt, grief and loss, parenting challenges, and coping with life changes. Her approach is integrative, grounded in a person-centred base while drawing on attachment theory, trauma-informed practice, mindfulness, cognitive behavioural techniques, creative arts methods, and engagement with the outdoor environment.

Fiona aims to offer an open, understanding and safe space where complex thoughts and feelings can be explored. She follows the BACP Ethical Framework and engages in regular supervision, and she continues professional development through additional training. Recent trainings include Compassion Focussed Therapy and CBT for Menopause.

Her route into therapy began after completing a degree in Fine Art and working as a participatory artist with community, education and health groups. In that work she observed how creative activity could open up opportunities for people to share their experiences, which inspired her to train as a therapist. She also experienced counselling personally and was motivated by being listened to with compassion and empathy.

Alongside private practice, Fiona is employed by a national UK charity to deliver therapeutic and psychoeducational groupwork for people who have experienced domestic abuse. She describes herself as a female, older, non-religious and liberal therapist.

Outside of work she enjoys time with family and friends and walking in nature with her adopted rescue greyhound. Fiona offers sessions by video, telephone and text.

Is Online Therapy the Right Fit for Your Needs?

Many people ask whether online therapy can produce meaningful change. For a wide range of common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life transitions – online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.

One of the main advantages is convenience and flexibility. Clients can connect with their therapist in the format that suits them best – video calls, telephone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – which can make it easier to fit support into daily life.

Therapists offering online work are licensed professionals, and if someone decides a different clinician would be a better fit they can switch at any time. For many people, remote therapy offers a practical and effective route to accessing psychological help when they need it.
