Eric Troy is a Florida-based mental health professional who has pursued a lifelong interest in psychology and counseling. He completed dual bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology, earned a Master’s degree in Psychology with a specialty in Mental Health Counseling, and holds a doctoral degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. After completing his internship and initial clinical work, he obtained licensure and now brings 15 years of professional experience to his practice.
He is a licensed mental health counselor in Florida, holding license MH11564, and serves as a Qualified Supervisor for both mental health and marriage and family therapists. Much of his clinical training and practice occurred in South Florida, an area known for its cultural diversity, which helped him develop skills for working effectively with clients from varied backgrounds. His approach to therapy is professional, compassionate, and nonjudgmental.
Eric integrates a range of therapeutic methods to meet each person’s needs, including Cognitive and Cognitive-Behavioral techniques, EMDR, holistic and narrative approaches, supportive therapy, family systems work, DBT, and other modalities. He tailors interventions to the presenting concerns and individual strengths of each client rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model.
Over the years he has assisted people with stress and anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, self-esteem and confidence issues, grief and loss, caregiving challenges, men’s issues, divorce and relationship difficulties, trauma and PTSD, LGBTQ and gender identity concerns, career and employment matters, work-life balance, motivation, addictions, parenting and intimacy-related issues, anger management, family conflicts, and compassion fatigue. He believes clients are the experts in their own stories and aims to support them as they take the courageous step toward a more fulfilling life, offering guidance and steady support until desired goals are reached.
Many people ask whether remote counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility - clients can connect in the format that fits their schedule and comfort level, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to integrate therapy into a busy life and reduces barriers to consistent care.
Sessions are provided by licensed professionals, and if a different therapeutic fit is desired, clients may switch therapists. For many people seeking help with everyday mental health concerns, online therapy offers a convenient and effective option to begin or continue their work toward improved well-being.
