Wondering if am a good fit for you. Here is a bit about me. I have worked with adults, children, adolescents, and families for more than 30 years. I am a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and have experienced the dynamics of a blended family, and adoption firsthand. I was raised as a middle son of 13 siblings. I have been married, devoiced, and remarried for 23 years, in a well-functioning interracial marriage. I am presently employed at Sunrise Children’s Services and currently serve in the capacity of Treatment Director, with over 30 years of experience in Residential Child Care as well as experience with the SMI, Severely Mentally Ill Population. And also the owner and operator of The Maize Family Counseling Sevices, LLC. I am a person of faith who is open and affirming to all people. My work history as an LPCC includes issues such as parenting, ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Life Adjustment Issues, and Men’s Transitional Life Issues. Most recently JSOC, Juvenile Sex Offending Counselor as of Jan 2021. With 11 years in professional practice as a graduate of Webster University. Primary modalities used in therapy are TF-CBT, CBT, MI, REBT, and DBT, and tend to act as a proponent of Gestalt and Existential theory. I am also, certified in EMDR. Emmanuel Maize is a Kentucky-based licensed professional clinical counselor with 11 years of professional practice and a broader background spanning more than 30 years working with adults, children, adolescents, and families.
He holds a Kentucky professional clinical counseling license (KY LPCC 172544), a credential that authorizes him to provide clinical counseling services in Kentucky.
He currently serves as Treatment Director at Sunrise Children’s Services and has extensive experience in residential child care as well as work with individuals who are severely mentally ill. He is also the owner and operator of The Maize Family Counseling Services, LLC.
A graduate of Webster University, Emmanuel uses a range of therapeutic approaches. His primary modalities include Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). He also draws on Gestalt and Existential theory and is certified in EMDR.
His practice addresses a wide array of concerns, including parenting and family issues, ADHD, depression, anxiety, stress, relationship conflicts, trauma and abuse, addictions, LGBT-related matters, grief, intimacy-related concerns, sleeping disorders, anger management, self-esteem challenges, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, and coping with life changes. He has also served as a Juvenile Sex Offending Counselor (JSOC) since January 2021.
