He also draws on Gestalt and Existential theory and is certified in EMDR.
His practice addresses a wide array of concerns, including parenting and family issues, ADHD, depression, anxiety, stress, relationship conflicts, trauma and abuse, addictions, LGBT-related matters, grief, intimacy-related concerns, sleeping disorders, anger management, self-esteem challenges, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, and coping with life changes. He has also served as a Juvenile Sex Offending Counselor (JSOC) since January 2021.
On a personal level, Emmanuel is a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who was raised as the middle son among 13 siblings. He has been married, divorced, and remarried, and has been in his current interracial marriage for 23 years. He is a person of faith who is open and affirming to all people.
Emmanuel believes people have the capacity to live healthy, whole lives when they are willing to embrace change, and he welcomes the opportunity to be part of a client’s journey as they explore new possibilities together.
Many people question whether virtual therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or navigating life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care for most clients.
One major benefit is flexibility - clients can connect in the way that fits their schedule and comfort level, whether that is a video call, a phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility makes it easier to maintain consistency and integrate therapy into a busy life.
These services are provided by licensed professionals and therapists, and if a different therapeutic fit is desired, clients generally have the option to switch providers. Online therapy can be a practical, effective option for many people seeking support for everyday mental health concerns.
