Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am here to create a space that feels safe and warm, wherein
it feels possible to talk about what is on your mind, however difficult this may be. As a person-centred therapist I will be congruent and authentic, without judgement, to allow you to explore what matters to you, be it past, present, or future. I am here to be on your side and support you through everything you are going through, developing a bond, and helping you to find what works for you.
The person-centred approach is about empowering individuals as the experts of their own experience. I am qualified with BSc (Hons) Psychology and MA Person-Centred Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice which gives me a unique insight within knowledge of both the more scientific and the more arts based elements of therapy. My role is to show you unconditional positive regard, empathy and to be non-directive, allowing you to discuss all you wish to without deciding what is or isn’t important and taking an expert role. This can take some getting used to given the difference to some other therapy approaches, but centring around your experience and allowing you to be fully in control of how our sessions run is really important in creating empowerment and trust in yourself.
We will work together and regularly check in on whether the therapy is providing what you need, and how we can work together to meet your needs, whether that is long-term goals or session-by-session needs. Person-centred therapy doesn’t have to be without structure, but equally, it can be completely without structure.
Please ensure that you message me before scheduling any live sessions.
Taking the steps to find a therapist that is compatible with you is really important, and I am really excited for those of you starting your journey with therapy. I wish you the best of luck and hope to speak with you soon!

Emma Poxon creates a warm, safe space where people can bring whatever is on their mind, however difficult that may feel. As a person-centred therapist she aims to be congruent and authentic, offering non-judgemental support so clients can explore what matters to them – whether that relates to the past, present, or future.
She works alongside clients, offering companionship and support while helping them build a therapeutic bond and discover what approaches suit them best. The person-centred model Emma uses is focused on empowering individuals to be the experts of their own experience, with the therapist taking a non-directive stance.
Emma holds a BSc (Hons) Psychology, an undergraduate degree in psychology, and an MA Person-Centred Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice, a master’s qualification in person-centred experiential counselling and psychotherapy practice. These qualifications give her insight into both the scientific and the more experiential, arts-based aspects of therapy.
Her role is to offer unconditional positive regard and empathy while allowing clients to lead the direction of sessions. This approach can feel different from other therapies and may take some adjustment, but centring the client’s experience is central to developing self-trust and empowerment.
Emma and her clients check in regularly to ensure therapy is meeting their needs and to decide together how to work toward long-term aims or session-by-session objectives. Person-centred therapy can include structure when that is helpful, or be entirely without set structure if that better suits the client.
Please message Emma before booking any live sessions.
She appreciates the care involved in finding a compatible therapist and is genuinely excited for people beginning their therapy journey. Emma wishes those seeking support the best of luck and hopes to speak with them soon.
Many people ask whether online therapy can genuinely help. For common issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or coping with life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit of remote therapy is flexibility – clients can choose the format that fits them best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
All therapists offering online work are licensed professionals, and clients are able to change therapists if they decide they need a different fit. For many people, the combination of accessibility and professional support makes online therapy a practical and effective option.
