Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am in my 6th year as a Licensed Professional Counselor, this is who I am, not what I do. Doing what I love is effortless and natural to me so our time together may also feel natural and easy. Most of my professional experience has centered around fear-based struggles: stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, transitions, relationships, past experiences… I use these terms that are common however they feel like boxes; my finding is that everyone comes into these spaces differently, experiences them differently and moves out of them differently.
Counseling is an art form; I am here to assist you with identifying and then creating the picture you want for your life. The canvas for this is a Person-Centered approach. The originator of this philosophy, Carl Rogers, said this is often all that is needed to facilitate change. I have a variety of other tools for us that may prove useful; DBT, CBT, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Breathwork, Yoga, Transactional Analysis, Hypnotherapy, Existential Therapy, Trauma Therapy and REBT are the most common. They are all amazing in their own way.

David Yoder brings six years of experience as a licensed professional counselor in Missouri, and he frames his work as an expression of who he is rather than only what he does. His approach to therapy is grounded in ease and authenticity, so sessions often feel natural and effortless.
Much of his clinical experience focuses on fear-based difficulties such as stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, life transitions, relationship struggles, and responses to past events. He recognizes that labels can feel limiting – each person arrives with unique experiences and moves through challenges in their own way.
Counseling, to him, is an art. He guides clients in identifying and then creating the life they want, using a Person-Centered framework pioneered by Carl Rogers, which often provides the foundation for change. In addition to that core perspective, he draws on a wide set of therapeutic tools that may be helpful, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems, breathwork, yoga, transactional analysis, hypnotherapy, existential therapy, trauma-focused work, and rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT).
He is credentialed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri (MO LPC 2017028738) and applies his training and varied methods to support people working through issues like grief, parenting challenges, sleep problems, anger management, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and concerns related to LGBT identity and family conflict.
For many common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions. This makes virtual care a practical option for people facing everyday mental health challenges.
One major advantage is flexibility. Clients can choose the format that works best for them, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility can make it easier to integrate therapy into a busy schedule.
All therapists providing online services are licensed professionals, and individuals may switch therapists at any time if they prefer a different therapeutic fit. The combination of demonstrated effectiveness for common issues and adaptable ways to connect helps many people access the support they need on terms that suit their lives.
