Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed in Arizona. I have been practicing for sixteen years and own a counseling practice in Surprise, AZ. I am also approved as a clinical supervisor in AZ and work with both interns and associate counselors as they pursue degrees in counseling and acquire hours toward independent licensure. I find it very rewarding to help give back to the future generation of mental health practitioners. I am a native of WI but have called AZ my home since 2006.
Today you are one step closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being. As a licensed professional counselor, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can’t change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. I specialize in individual, couples, and family counseling. I also focus on adolescent and young adult issues and have extensive experience in this area. As a bio-psycho-social-spiritual counselor, I believe in treating the whole person. I work from a Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance/Commitment Therapy, and Family Systems approach to counseling. Psychotherapy requires an active effort and commitment from the client, this is important in order to most effectively identify areas of concern and desired treatment goals. Counseling is an exploration of deep, personal life issues and areas of one’s life that may have been buried for any number of reasons.
If you are ready to reclaim true control in your life or ready to redefine who you are and where you would like to go in life, schedule an appointment with me.

Daniel Bernhardt is a licensed professional counselor practicing in Arizona with twenty years of clinical experience. He maintains a private counseling practice in Surprise, AZ and serves as an approved clinical supervisor, supporting interns and associate counselors as they complete coursework and accrue hours toward independent licensure.
A native of Wisconsin, he has called Arizona home since 2006. Daniel approaches counseling from a bio-psycho-social-spiritual perspective, attending to the whole person rather than isolated symptoms. He applies evidence-informed methods, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and family systems approaches, to address long-standing patterns and unhelpful beliefs that can limit well-being.
Daniel works with individuals, couples, and families, and has a particular focus on adolescent and young adult concerns. He emphasizes that meaningful change in psychotherapy requires active engagement from the client, and he partners with people to identify areas of concern, set treatment goals, and build practical strategies for growth.
In addition to clinical practice, Daniel finds it rewarding to mentor the next generation of mental health professionals through supervision. Those ready to reclaim a sense of control, redefine who they are, or pursue a more fulfilling life are encouraged to schedule an appointment with him.
