Claire Lewis is an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and practises as an integrative counsellor with a primary foundation in person-centred therapy. Her work also draws on psychodynamic, Gestalt, cognitive behavioural (CBT) and solution-focused approaches, allowing her to tailor support to each person’s needs.
She has four years of post-qualified experience and has spent the last four years working within an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), offering short-term support to a wide range of clients presenting varied difficulties. Over the past three years Claire has also provided medium- to long-term emotional support to neurodiverse university students, and she has experience of working with clients over longer timeframes where that is helpful.
Claire supports people with stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, family conflicts, grief including pet grief, loss, motivation, self-esteem and confidence. She offers a safe, empathic space grounded in unconditional positive regard, and aims to work collaboratively with clients as they take the brave first steps toward investing in their own wellbeing.
For many common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges or coping with life transitions, online therapy can be an effective option and has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions for these issues.
One major benefit is flexibility - clients can choose the mode of contact that suits them best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to fit therapy into everyday life and keep momentum between sessions.
Therapists offering online work are licensed professionals, and if a different fit is needed it is possible to switch to another therapist at any time. Online therapy can therefore provide a practical, accessible way to access professional support when addressing common mental health and relationship concerns.
