Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I’m glad to introduce myself to you and look forward to us possibly working together in collaboration to address whatever has brought you here.
I have been in private practice as a licensed psychotherapist (LPC) for the past 37 years, most of that time in Dallas. I moved to the Bay Area in California 8 years ago (best decision i ever made!) and added Life Coaching to my practice. My work is much different now than in Texas–instead of going to a brick and mortar office every day and seeing clients, I now work exclusively on the phone and on line and have become involved with several projects on different platforms, including as an online coach for a decision making start up, and as a counselor for the Life Reimagined program. i also received Disaster Management Training and became certified as a telephonic critical incident responder.
I received my Master’s from Arizona State University and I have been licensed since 1983 after gaining early experience in psychiatric hospital social work and mental health center settings. In my practice, I have worked with individuals on a wide variety of issues, including anxiety and depression, relationships, separation and divorce, family conflicts, parenting, grief and loss, and chronic illness. i am a cancer survivor (30 years healthy and happy) and have talked with many people experiencing catastrophic illness and disability. In 2011, I became a Certified Life Coach, receiving training through Coach Training Alliance.
I am now fortunate enough to be able to blend my years of experience as a therapist and life coach with my own life experiences to work with Baby Boomers as they face the challenges and transitions in the new chapters in their lives.
Most of the issues that bring people into a counseling relationship can be addressed in three phases:
First is the “What”–what is your situation, problem, experience, etc.
Next is the “So What–what effect have these experiences had on your decisions, choices, lifestyle, behaviors
The third is the “Now What”–where to go from here. My experience in solution oriented, brief therapy has led to an emphasis on this “now what” and the changes that can make a big difference in your life.
i would be honored to be your partner in your growth journey!
Best,
Chris Ryan

Christine Ryan welcomes the chance to collaborate with individuals seeking support and change, and she approaches each relationship with a focus on practical steps forward.
With 40 years of experience in the mental health field, Christine has maintained a private psychotherapy practice for most of her career, including 37 years practicing as a licensed psychotherapist in Dallas. She relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area eight years ago and expanded her work to include life coaching. Since that transition she has shifted to offering services by phone and online and has participated in several projects across different platforms, including serving as an online coach for a decision-making start up and as a counselor for the Life Reimagined program.
Christine holds a master’s degree from Arizona State University and has been licensed to practice since 1983 after early work in psychiatric hospital social work and community mental health centers. She completed life coach training and became a Certified Life Coach in 2011 through the Coach Training Alliance. She also completed Disaster Management Training and is certified as a telephonic critical incident responder.
Her clinical experience includes helping people with anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, separation and divorce, family conflicts, parenting challenges, grief and loss, chronic and catastrophic illness, and disability-related concerns. She is also a cancer survivor and has been healthy for 30 years, which informs her understanding of serious medical and life-impacting events.
Christine blends her long experience as a therapist with coaching skills to support Baby Boomers navigating new life chapters and transitions. Her approach often follows three practical phases – clarifying the situation (the What), examining its impact (the So What), and identifying next steps (the Now What) – with an emphasis on solution-oriented, brief interventions that help clients move forward.
She would be honored to be a collaborative partner on a client’s journey toward meaningful change and improved well-being.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For a wide range of common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and major life transitions – online therapy has been found to work as effectively as traditional in-person care for most individuals.
One major benefit is flexibility. Clients can connect in the way that fits their life and comfort level, choosing video sessions, phone conversations, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to maintain continuity of care amid busy schedules and changing circumstances.
Each therapist offering online services is a licensed professional, and clients may change therapists at any time if they prefer a different fit. Online therapy offers an accessible way to receive skilled support while focusing on practical strategies and personal growth.
