I have a passion for the change process in individual and group psychotherapy. Recovery in emotional struggles and and abstinance from mood alterning chemicals I believe they are remarkable ways to realign our thought-life; and thereby, change our feelings. Christie Taylor, EdD, LPC-S has 30+ years of experience in leading mental health and substance abuse treatment programs in private and public settings. She has served as the Clinical Director of psychiatric hospitals in all levels of treatment from acute inpatient to outpatient counseing. Dr Taylor also served as the CEO of non-profit addiction treatment programs, and has held many positions providing direct mental health and addiction counseling services. She also provided clinical leadership in developing the addiction/ chronic pain program for Memorial Hermann PaRC in Houston. Dr. Taylor has been a Mental Health Counseling/ Psychology adjunct faculty member for 20 years at the University of St Thomas- Houston, Cameron University in Lawton/ Ft Sill, OK and the University of Houston in the Addiction Counseling Training Program. Dr Taylor has many years experience in counseling children and has a passion for helping teens whose parents have alcoholism and addiction.

Dr. Christie Taylor aims to earn a client’s trust and then help them clarify the thoughts and feelings that brought them into counseling. She centers work on each person’s hopes and aspirations, and when past experiences are influencing the present she helps clients explore ways to leave what they no longer need in the past.
She brings a long-standing commitment to the therapeutic process, with a particular passion for both individual and group psychotherapy. Dr. Taylor values recovery from emotional struggles and supports abstinence from mood-altering substances as part of realigning patterns of thinking and shifting emotional life. She is eager to meet clients and to accompany them through their journey of change.
Across more than three decades Dr. Taylor has led mental health and substance abuse treatment programs in private and public settings. She has served as the clinical director of psychiatric hospitals at levels ranging from acute inpatient care to outpatient counseling, and she has been the CEO of non-profit addiction treatment programs while also providing direct mental health and addiction counseling services. She provided clinical leadership in developing the addiction and chronic pain program for Memorial Hermann PaRC in Houston and has served as an adjunct faculty member in mental health and addiction counseling programs at the University of St. Thomas – Houston, Cameron University in Lawton/Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, and the University of Houston for about 20 years.
Dr. Taylor has many years of experience working with children and a strong commitment to helping teens affected by parental alcoholism and addiction. She holds a doctorate in education and supervisory counseling credentials, and she is licensed to practice professional counseling in Texas (TX LPC 10756).
