About

Dr. Christie Taylor aims to earn a client’s trust and then help them clarify the thoughts and feelings that brought them into counseling. She centers work on each person’s hopes and aspirations, and when past experiences are influencing the present she helps clients explore ways to leave what they no longer need in the past.

She brings a long-standing commitment to the therapeutic process, with a particular passion for both individual and group psychotherapy. Dr. Taylor values recovery from emotional struggles and supports abstinence from mood-altering substances as part of realigning patterns of thinking and shifting emotional life. She is eager to meet clients and to accompany them through their journey of change.

Across more than three decades Dr. Taylor has led mental health and substance abuse treatment programs in private and public settings. She has served as the clinical director of psychiatric hospitals at levels ranging from acute inpatient care to outpatient counseling, and she has been the CEO of non-profit addiction treatment programs while also providing direct mental health and addiction counseling services. She provided clinical leadership in developing the addiction and chronic pain program for Memorial Hermann PaRC in Houston and has served as an adjunct faculty member in mental health and addiction counseling programs at the University of St. Thomas - Houston, Cameron University in Lawton/Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, and the University of Houston for about 20 years.

Dr. Taylor has many years of experience working with children and a strong commitment to helping teens affected by parental alcoholism and addiction. She holds a doctorate in education and supervisory counseling credentials, and she is licensed to practice professional counseling in Texas (TX LPC 10756).

Is Online Therapy the Right Choice for Your Mental Health Journey?

Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly make a difference. For many common concerns - including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions - online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions. A key advantage of virtual care is flexibility. Clients can connect in the format that fits them best: video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging, which makes it easier to integrate therapy into a busy life. Licensed professionals offer therapy online, and if a client feels the need for a different fit they may switch therapists. For many people, online sessions provide an accessible, flexible way to get help with everyday mental health and relationship issues.
